Urgent Care

SCCIPA Members have several alternatives to obtain urgent care:

For Medical Questions that are NOT an Emergency

During Office Hours:
Call Your Primary Care Physician (PCP). Your doctor may want to see you immediately or schedule an appointment.

After Hours:

With OnCall Advice. SCCIPA members can get medical advice even when their doctor's office is closed. OnCall Advice is a toll-free service, available nights, weekends and major holidays. Call 1-888-4SCCIPA for advice on what to do and where to go for treatment. Your doctor or another SCCIPA doctor is available 24 hours a day either directly or through the advice line.

A SCCIPA Urgent Care Center can also be used if you have a medical problem that needs attention.

If your Emergency requires Immediate Attention

Medical Emergencies require immediate medical attention because of an unforeseen injury or a sudden or worsened illness that could permanently damage a patient's health if treatment is delayed. They typically include inpatient or outpatient services, which, if not provided, could result in serious medical complications.

  • Call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
  • It is important to notify your Primary Care Physician of any emergency room visit or hospitalization within 24 hours or as soon as possible.

*Please refer to your HMO materials for the exact terms and conditions of your benefit coverage.
