SCCIPA contracts with most major Commercial HMOs, Medicare Advantage plans, and many PPOs. This means you can switch to SCCIPA doctors if you are eligible for one of the plans listed in this section.

How SCCIPA Works with Your Health Plans

HMOs or health maintenance organizations are health plans that support coordinated care and preventive exams through high performing networks. When you enroll in an HMO you select a Contracting Medical Group, like SCCIPA, and a Primary Care Physician to coordinate your healthcare--from preventive care, physical exams and routine health problems, to specialists, emergency care, and hospitalization.

If you are enrolled in an HMO or Senior Medicare Advantage plan, please call your health plan directly to

  • Find out how to switch your medical group to SCCIPA or change your primary care physician, and
  • Make sure the Hospitals you prefer participate in your health plan.
